End of an era

Our weekend diversion.

Meet the Press (NBC): The world will be righted. Host Tim Russert speaks with Senator John McCain, smiling again for the Sunday morning cameras after too long gone. General Anthony Zinni, USMC (ret.) will be on later to hawk his new book, The Battle for Peace.

FOX News Sunday (FNS): Host Chris Wallace talks to Senator Russ Feingold. "on censuring the president." It's not serious, it's not going to happen, so why are they bothering with this garbage? Senator Lindsey Graham, always something of a maverick, will be on to discuss immigration reform.

Face the Nation (CBS): Host Bob Schieffer will talk immigration reform with Representative James Sensenbrenner and famed Nazi hunter Dick Durbin.

This Week (ABC): Host George Stephanopoulos talks immigration reform with Senators George Allen and Barack Obama.

Late Edition (CNN): Host Wolf Blitzer has listed Mexican President Vicente Fox, and Senators Bill Frist, Chuck Hagel, and Evan Bayh. All three are what is known in someone's parlance as "aspirants."

Speaking of aspirants, aside from those three, McCain's one, as are Russ and Allen. Obama is mentioned with a caveat: someday. (Russ, we could do without. The joke isn't funny anymore.)

Immigration talk is always good for potential fisticuffs and other nastiness, so let the good times roll, as 't were.
